When to Use
Supplementary only
Use a tooltip for a concise hint. Keep errors, requirements, and action names visible or available through normal accessible labeling.
Plain text
Links, buttons, HTML, and long interactive explanations belong in a popover or dialog, not a tooltip.
Keyboard parity
Anything shown on hover also opens on focus and is connected through a stable ARIA description.
